We always want you to entertain responsibly, so today we offer up 2 super refreshing, non-alcoholic drink recipes to perk up the party or to sip while sitting poolside.
Yes, this recipe only calls for 3 ingredients:
1 Cup of Sugar
1 1/2 Cups fresh lemon juice (usually 9-11 lemons)
How to Make this Classic:
Start by combining the sugar and a cup of water in a sauce pan. Bring the water to a boil and then reduce the heat and simmer for about 4 minutes (don’t stir it, but you’ll know it’s ready for the next step once the sugar dissolves.
Once the sugar dissolves, remove the saucepan from the heat and let it cool completely.
Using a large (a gallon is good) pitcher, combine the cooled mixture, lemon juice, and 4 cups of cold water. From here, it’s up to your ‘tart’ testing — if it’s too tart, add more cold water and perhaps some ice.
When you’re satisfied with the taste, place the pitcher in the refrigerator and keep it there until completely chilled.
Ready to serve the lemonade? Thinly sliced lemon added and stirred into the pitcher adds a special touch while tasting delicious.
APPLE ICED TEA
Again, using only 3 ingredients, you’ll wow your guests while staying cool and refreshed with this tart twist on regular ‘ole iced tea.
The 3 ingredients you’ll need:
8 Bags of tea (use black, green, or even Red Zinger)
4 Cups of apple juice
2 Apples (your choice of variety)
Directions to Make this Iced Tea:
Using a saucepan, boil 4 cups of fresh water. After the water comes to a boil, remove the saucepan from the heat and add the tea bags to steep. Stir it a few times for up to 5 minutes.
After steeping, remove the tea bags and let the tea cool completely. Once cooled, slice your apples thin and stir the apples and the apple juice into the tea water (combine right in the pitcher you intend to use).
Chill completely and then serve over ice.
We hope you have a happy and healthy summer while living here at Stonegate! Let’s plan on warm drinks in the fall!
