Getting a good night’s sleep is important – it directly affects how you feel when you’re awake during the day! Are you finding yourself feeling tired, cranky, and lethargic during the day? You might be making one of these 3 crucial mistakes.
- Keeping the room too hot or cold. If you get too hot or cold, it can keep you awake. The National Sleep Foundation suggests a comfortable 65°F!
- Failing to allow an adequate amount of time. If you want to get the recommended amount of sleep (about 7-8 hours), then be sure to get to bed at a time that allows you to sleep that long.
- Using electronics or eating heavy meals close to bedtime. The bright lights from the electronics signals your brain to stay awake, and heavy meals make it hard to stay asleep. Additional lists of things to avoid before bedtime include: smoking tobacco/cigarettes and drinking alcohol.
Avoid the above items and you will find that you’re waking up feeling rested, refreshed, and ready to go!
