Four Plants That Can Improve Your Air Quality

Stonegate Apartments - Tuesday, October 18, 2016

Now that fall is rolling around, residents and homeowners alike will be opening their windows less and less. Keep your air purified by adding some easy-to-care-for houseplants that will remove common pollutants from furniture, carpeting, and more!

  1. Spider Plants – These are one of the easiest houseplants to grow and care for, making them perfect for beginners! Give them indirect sunlight, and they will grow shoots of flowers that will grow into baby spider plants that you can trim and keep for yourself, or share with friends!

  2. Ficus or Weeping Fig – This hardy plant can grow between two and ten feet tall! Be sure to let the soil of these plants dry out between waterings. As a bonus, they can also be taken outside for the summer season!

  3. Bamboo Palms - Bamboo can grow from four to 12 feet tall, making them an exciting indoor addition that can give your home an exotic feel. These plants tend to require more sunlight than the previous two, thriving in full sun or very bright light.

  4. Peace Lilies – These plants tend to be a bit smaller than some other plant air-purifiers, and can contribute some pollen and floral scents. Peace lilies grow best in shady areas, and although you should still be cautious of overwatering, their soil should be kept moist.

With our tall ceilings, oversized windows, and private patios, there are plenty of spaces at Stonegate for your indoor plants! What will you be adding this fall?
