One of Stonegate’s awesome features is the fact that our units have plenty of closet space. Each bedroom has a closet, and each master bedroom is equipped with its own walk-in closet. Sometimes, it can be difficult to keep your closet organized, especially when you have a lot of different clothing items to store. Check out the tips below for clearing out your stuff and keeping your closet organized!
- Get rid of items you don’t need. Before you even try to start organizing, go through all of your clothes and shoes and decide what you really want to keep, and what needs to go. A good rule of thumb is to think about whether or not you’ve worn them in the past year. Chances are, if you haven’t, you aren’t going to wear it again. Additionally, if you wouldn’t buy a certain style again, then you probably wouldn’t wear it again.
- Keep shelving organized with shelf dividers. They can be placed right on top of your existing shelves to add more space. You can even adjust them to different widths to make them fit your things perfectly!
- Use a separate organizer for shoes. Try a hanging organizer or floor shoe-rack, or even put them on a door organizer.
- Create extra storage with hooks. Pick up some removable hooks (like Command Hooks) that will not damage the wall, and hang them inside the closet for added space. Remember, you want to keep as many items off of the floor as possible!
